KITCHEN ASSISTANT
TEHIDY WOODS CAFE

Shift Pattern:


Monday: 9.30am-3:30pm
TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY - OFF
Thursday: 9.30am-3:30pm
Friday: 9.30am-3:30pm
Saturday: 9.30am-3:30pm
Sunday: 9.30am-3:30pm

Start Date: ASAP - this role is not seasonal and provides a permanent, year-round opportunity, with scope for growth, for the right candidate.

​

The Role:
Ahead of the summer, we are looking for a permanent Kitchen Assistant to join us at our small but busy café in Tehidy Woods, Camborne.

​

As our Kitchen Assistant, you’ll be responsible for preparing our simple but delicious menu of breakfast ciabattas, granola bowls, waffle stacks, sandwiches, soups and toasties in a fast-paced environment.

​

Time management, the ability to manage your own workload and a strong attention to detail are essential skills you'll need for this role.

​

You’ll be monitoring and managing kitchen stock levels, placing orders when required and working closely with senior management to keep the kitchen running smoothly at all times.

As part of this, you'll be responsible for maintaining our high standards of Food Hygiene and Safety at all times. A Level 2 qualification in Food Hygiene is advantageous but this will be provided as part of your induction if required.

This is a great role for someone with kitchen experience who wants a better work-life balance (no evening work required!), while still being part of something exciting and local.

​

What you’ll be doing:

  • Prepping and serving consistently great food at pace

  • Maintaining excellent food hygiene and safety standards

  • Managing kitchen stock levels and ordering as needed

  • Supporting menu planning as required

  • Working closely with a supportive, professional team

  • Taking pride in your work and helping set the tone for the team

  • Managing your time with care and efficiency

What we’re looking for:

  • A L2 Food Hygiene qualification (not essential - we can provide this)

  • Previous experience working in a busy kitchen environment

  • Confident with prep, cooking, and plating during service

  • A calm, clear communicator who can support and guide others

  • Someone who takes pride in their work and leads by example

  • Reliable, adaptable, and a true team player

FRONT OF HOUSE
TEHIDY WOODS CAFE & THE ROASTERY

We’re looking for a friendly, reliable all-rounder to join our small team at The Roastery - our speciality coffee shop and roastery in Threemilestone Industrial Estate, Truro & our woodland cafe in Camborne. 

 

This is a part-time role providing a really unique opportunity to gain experience or step into the coffee industry. Previous speciality coffee/barista experience is a real bonus, so please do let us know if this is you.

 

We’re looking for someone who’s up for getting involved in all parts of the day-to-day: pouring our delicious, single-origin and sustainably sourced coffee, prepping and plating our simple brunch menu, providing outstanding service to our customers, packing coffee orders and keeping The Roastery clean and tidy.

 

Our ideal candidate will have the flexibility to provide holiday sickness cover, both at The Roastery and at our sister cafe, Tehidy Woods Cafe, as needed. During busier periods, there will be scope for additional hours for the right candidate.
